Hi Eveyone. Hope y'all are having a great day. I've been reading some posts on here about weight loss really slowing down during months 6-12. Is this true? One person said their doc said she should've lost more weight in her first 6 months and now she probably won't make goal. I'm really worried about this. I haven't lost a ton of weight since my sleeve date but I think my numbers are pretty good. Will my weight loss really slow down next month when I enter month 6? I have another 63 pounds to lose before I make goal. I didn't have this surgery to still be a fatty.

Please share your experiences with me and let me know how the weight loss went during the 6-12 month period.

Thanks everyone.

Like I said in the other thread, the sleeve does not have an expiration date. As long as you follow the sleever rules, you will continue to lose weight. You have the ability to hit goal and even go beyond.

Will your weight loss slow down? Yes, but that's true with any weight loss program. The lighter you are, the less calories it takes for you to sustain your life. In that case you will need to bump up your calories out by being more active or getting more workouts in. You'll also need to be really good with what you are consuming.

I wanted to get to goal as quickly as possible so I did everything I could. Now I'm 10.5 months out and undereating my sleeve and eating Protein first are habits. I lost weight every month and only noticed my weight loss slowing down in month 8 and 9, but I still lost 7 lbs each month.

There are some clinicians saying crazy things to people but I am saying that if you want to lose all your excess weight or more, you can.

Here's my first 12 month breakdown...and I have since lost 1 additional lb. since without trying. You can see where it slowed down. That's why encourage all pre-sleevers to lose as much as possible before getting sleeved. I really believe that helped me to get to my personal goal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
