Difference In Pre-post Gastric Sleeve

Recommended Posts

It is much like I expected as far as being able to eat what I want. Find myself bored with food. Have a hard time with Proteins. Ground beef is hard so are eggs. I don't like the way food feels. feel like I am surviving on Protein drinks, Protein Bars and string cheese. Didn't expect the frustration of not being able to eat one minute and the lack of interest in eating the next. I am so glad I did this but still learning the ropes. I must say I expected to lose much faster than I am. I have been on diets and lost 20 Pds a month and I am not doing that now. Maybe because I eat what I want? I am almost 8 weeks out from surgery and including 5 days pre op diet I am down 30 Pds. Was expecting more.

i think the first 15 or so pounds are excess Water. so just think you are losing REAL fat now. and that's okay that it's taking a while.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
