meljef1 1 Posted December 6, 2011 I am going to start the pre-op phase soon and I have seen the commerical for Ensure drinks.< /p> Does anyone know how the ensure Protein Drink taste and also if it has enought Protein in it. It says it has 25 grams of protein and is low in fat. I'm wondering if drinks prepackaged would taste better than powder that you have to mix. Any thoughts? Paola 62 Posted December 6, 2011 Is your pre-op supposed to be low carb? I notices the Ensure High Protein has 23g of carb, personally I think thats too much. I have tasted the Slim-Fast Lower Carb shakes they taste great to me, and they have 20g of protein. Something against the Slim Fast one is that they do have a 9g of fat, and the Ensure has 2.5g. 100%Sleeved 148 Posted December 6, 2011 Lean Body on the go tastes great. It has 25g of Protein, 7g of fat, 0g of sugar and 4g of carbohydrate. It also has 4g of Fiber and 180 calories. I tried the ensure the other day and did not like the after taste. I gave it to my husband. Lean Body can be purchased at GNC. Lean Body regular has more protien but more calories. longer-life 139 Posted December 6, 2011 The Oh Yeah ready to drink bottles are good too. Like the previous poster, I also like Lean Body on the go. I actually like to have both, ready to drink and a powder. Variety is key for me. Best wishes!
SleeveDreamer 383 Posted December 7, 2011 My dietician says Ensure is a no no. Too many carbs.
ChooseToChange 19 Posted December 7, 2011 I love my eas carb control chocolate shakes. I use them post op and my starbucks will heat them for me with the steamer. I mix in my multi Vitamin and volia Breakfast. 100 cal _ 4 carbs from fiber and 17 protein_ and I dont puke when I take my vitamin! Good luck. From now on remember.... Everything that goes in your mouth should have 3 times the Protein than carbs. If its 50/50 half the carbs should be fiber. Water is an exception, but then again there isnt anything in Water to count. MrsBurn 3 Posted December 7, 2011 The EAS carb control shakes are the only ones I've found that I like. I buy them at Wal-Mart.
