2bfit 62 Posted December 6, 2011 Welcome to the site! You and I are having surgery on the same exact date! As for the preop diet, if I were you I would try to start incorporating a Protein shake into your daily intake now. Replace one or two meals a day that way when you have to diet through the holidays it will not feel so overwhelming. But before you do all that make sure your doctor is going to require one. My doctor was only requiring that I lost 15lbs. I do not have to do a preop diet. Good luck! 1 Swimmer reacted to this
purplewave 1 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi, I am new too. I started my Pre-op the Monday after Thanksgiving. It is hard. I've seen a lot of posts where people deal better after the first couple of days, but I've felt better the last couple of days. I do three Labrada lean body shakes a day. I drink broth if I am having hunger pain. Recently, I started making a mini salad wrap with 1 piece of lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, a few spinach leaves, one radish, and a laughing cow cheese and eating that around 4:30 or 5:00 because that was my hungriest time. I went Christmas shopping over the weekend with some family. We were all starving by the end of the day. They ended eating at Outback after pleading with me to tell them where to go (that I would be most comfortable not eating). I was tired and hungry, but I sat in the car drank my shake and ate my mini wrap. Good Luck! I'm sure you can do it.
Mamina81 0 Posted December 6, 2011 Hey all I am also very new to this site and I’m learning how to maneuver my way around it. Today I met with the surgeon for the first time and my surgery was set for Dec 28th 2011. I have so many mixed emotions, I feel that my life is about to change and I don’t know what the outcome maybe, I have been over weight all my life and being thin seems like the solution to all of my troubles but sometime I wonder if this surgery is really going to make me totally happy. Part of me feels guilty that i have to undergo a surgical procedure to conquer my biggest obstcale wieght loss.
