Clothing exchange

Recommended Posts

Hey Bandsters! (Hey VQ!)

I know that many of you are currently melting away and rocking your Band, and so, you've shunk out of many of your clothes.

Cushies on the other hand... we go the other way.

There is a young lady on my Cushing's board that is in desperate need of some new clothes.

I'm looking for some very nice casual/formal clothes. (I'm planning on getting rid of practically ALL of my clothes...i've had many of my current clothes since I was 14 - I'm 20 now.)

My size is (or I thought) was a 16 W, but at fashionbug it's WAY too big. But a regular size 16 works, and I'm a petite. My favorite colors are maroon red, white, black, orange, light blues, and purples. I prefer black slacks. Anyways I'd be happy with anything aslong as it's decent and fits okay.

This young lady has had a really hard go of it, especially since she too was raised by wolves.

Let me know if you can help her out

Cheers

I would help if I could. I'm not down to a 16 myself, still in the 18/20/22 range. I wish her the best and God bless you for trying to help. You are a good person. :biggrin1:

hi,vinesqueen! i havent been a 16 for at least 15 years so i'm jealous. but...my program has a post-op support group that encourages people to bring in their clothes as they "ungrow" them. could you talk to someone at your clinic to see if they do something like that. good luck!

I just cleared out clothes a few weeks ago; but I will look again when I am home over the weekend and see if I can find some things still around. I am 5'7" so not petite but maybe I can find some things and if so I would be happy to ship them to you.

Hey Vinesqueen, you might have her check on e-bay as well. I get all of my clothes on e-bay and have always had lots of luck getting cheap clothes there. Size 16 short or petite is actual a pretty common size on there as well. I wish her the best, I hope that helps.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
