Tomorrow Is The Big Gastric Sleeve Surgery Day!

Recommended Posts

I am soo excited and soooo nervous! Tomorrow will be the 1st day to the rest of my life and I can't wait for this journey to begin. Check in at the hospital is at 830 with surgery scheduled at 11. I am most nervous about the gas afterward but Dr gave me the OK to use the Gas X strips, hopefully that will lighten the load! :wink1:

Here's to the new me!

Today, Monday, is my day, too. Pleased to share it with you. Had a horrendous trip to the hospital...lost control of my bowels and just couldn't continue riding in car. Until we found a store with a public rest room....

Now in hotel. Surgery at 11 45 but check in at 10 45. Playing games on my android to pass the time. Good luck to you. Let's share when done!

Thanks, Monty. Am worried that my bubble maniac game will run out of bubbles before the wait is over.

I'm home! Thanks to everyone fro the well wishes! Surgery went great, gas pain is a little bit of a problem, but noting I can't handle. Up and walking. Taking it nice and slow. I am really happy and proud of my decision.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
