*susan* 1,709 Posted December 5, 2011 Just curious, do any of you former bandsters ever experience pain where your port used to be? I have just recently started experiencing pain similar to that of what I used to feel from my port, except it is no longer there. This seems pretty weird to me. I am thinking maybe it is scar tissue or something?
lml32937 65 Posted December 20, 2011 This may sound weird but I used to massage my port area because it used to get banged all the time when I would slide my chair into my desk or something like that and I have found that I still do it even though it isnt there.. maybe it's habit or phantom pain as I llike to call it but I dont think it's weird... Rev Me Up! 75 Posted December 20, 2011 If I twist just right, I can still feel that familiar pull at my port site. I think there must be a ton of scar tissue there that is a little bit tight, which I can only feel if I really over extend. It doesn't hurt when I tought it or poke at it, only when it is stretched in a certain way. Hpwever, it is nothing like it was when I had the band - I couldn't even sleep on my side for an extended period of time without pain. Man, that band SUCKED! Becca 108 Posted December 23, 2011 The first few months after my revision I would have a stabbing pain where my port was. It has fadded for the most part now, but sometimes when I workout, I will feel it slightly.
