My Gastric Sleeve Loves... My Gastric Sleeve Hates...

Recommended Posts

At 6 days pre op my sleeve doesn't like Water. Not even lukewarm Water. Sits there gurgling away.

It loves apple juice cut with water and seems to like HMR shakes made into "pudding".

Guess we will find out more about each other in the coming months!

My sleeve and I have only been friends for about 4 weeks, but my band and I were always enemies.

My band hated eggs, chicken, and cottage cheese. My sleeve loves them.

My band loved Peanut Butter. My sleeve hates it.

They both love(d) cheeses and spicy foods.

My Sleeve loves:

  • Mashed bananas dipped in chocolate pudding which has been infused with Protein Powder (favorite food to date...tastes like chocolate dipped bananas)
  • scrambled eggs
  • cottage cheese
  • chicken salad
  • string cheese
  • granny smith apple sauce (no sugar added)
  • protein bars (the soft ones with no crunchies)
  • hummus
  • salmon
  • milk

My Sleeve hates:

  • Tuna salad
  • regular apple sauce (no sugar added)
  • Greek yogurt

Still eating mushies (surgery was on 12/20/2011) More solid food to come in a week or so...might have an updated list then.

My sleeve loves chicken, all cheeses, and tofu

My sleeve HATES sugar. Makes me nauseous, hot and clammy. Maybe it's good that Sleevie Nicks doesnt like sugar, it is a slider for me.

My sleeve loves milk, cheese, eggs, chicken, turkey, tuna, salmon, ham lunch meat (deli sliced), greek yogurt.

My sleeve hates cooked ham (like you have at Christmas), anything sweet, and the smell of Protein Shakes.< /p>

My sleeve has love/hate relationship with beef of any kind - sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's not.

Found out last night that Sleevie detests cheesecake. That's a good thing, of course. {Sad sigh.}

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
