Paola 62 Posted December 2, 2011 I am confused about how many meals/snacks a day you are supposed to have post-op. I have been told 5, and 3, which is it?
iegal 460 Posted December 3, 2011 No solid answer as all surgeons are different. Did you get a VSG diet plan from your office? If not google - VSG diet because there are several out there. When losing I ate 5 times a day due to so much restriction, I could not get in enough Protein at just 3 meals. Now, I eat 3 meals a day because even though I am at goal and am not hungry, I have tended to skip meals. I was warned by my surgeon at my follow up that these habits put me at risk for being more likely to get type 2 diabetes. This happens to skinny people too and we have to eat to be healthy. So - answer is check with your surgeon and see what your health requires to meet your protien and calorie intake goals. Now is the time to relearn new habits, good habits. Best wishes!
