I have had a friend suggest I have a party before surgery. We both know it can be a difficult path, and I could possibly be a long way out from being very social again. Possibly make it the NYE gathering or something. Has anyone done this?

I didn't but

1) only my husband and a few close girlfriends knew about surgery

2) I didn't think of it

I say enjoy and Celebrate anything. Congrats on your upcoming surgery.
