What's Your Favorite Protein Drink?

Recommended Posts

I have read a lot of posts of people that can't stomach Protein Drinks, was wondering what Protein Drink you have made your favorite???

I personlly like the chocolate carnation instant Breakfast (sugar free) with a scoop of chocolate whey Protein isolate and 16oz of skim milk...I have it everyday for breakfast. I fortunately am not lactose intolerent...I also like the EAS chocolate Protein drinks and chocolate slim fast, both low carb!!

I like Muscle Milk chocolate flavor. I order it online, it's a lot cheaper than buying it at a store. I mix mine with HEB fat free Moo-topia milk. It tastes better than using Water. Plus I think it has 12 or 13 grams of Protein per serving.

I see your from San Antonio, I am also. Have you had your surgery yet?

Your just 1 month ahead of me. My surgery was 11/15 at BMI of Texas close to the medical center. I've met another person from this site who is from San Antonio also. We will have to keep in touch and encourage each other as time goes by.

My favorite is Jay Robb - Love all flavors but usually get vanilla because I can throw it in my Vita-mix with so many options...

my favorite is Jay Robb unflavored Protein powder - has no smell, and I mix 14 oz of skim milk, a package of chocolate Alba (which adds another 6 grams of protein), 1/2 banana & a tablespoon of Peanut Butter .. it comes out thick & tastes like a chocolate peanut butter shake. It's very filling, so I only have 1/2 of the complete shake at a time (put the other 1/2 in the fridge until about 1.5 - 2 hours later) and it's a whopping 46+ grams of protein for the entire thing ... really helps me meet my protein requirements each day ... hope this helps.

In the food section there is a big long list rating Protein drinks.

All of the BSN lean dessert flavors are good. It's best to order samples before buying a bunch of stuff. You can find the list of where to get samples there too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
