Hi!! I almost missed this message! :blush2:

I never had babies, but I did carry around a lot of weight on my belly for a few decades so I suppose that's something... I can tell you this, semi-low carb eating is excellent for losing the belly fat. I did around 60g per day of complex carbohydrates during my weight loss phase. The only exercise I can truly say worked my abs too is running. It is the most excellent for overall body toning that I've seen. I'm picking it back up again and slowly but surely and getting my flat belly back. :smile1:

Good luck!!!

Yes!! That is awesome to hear!!! I would rather get new boobs then belly lol,and I don't want to do both so I am really trying to get the belly fit when I can. Thank you!!!

How did you work your sleeve? I feel like mine has stopped working and i even started going to the gym 3 weeks ago. I have cardio and strength training, and swimming. What do u find does not work with your sleeve, and what works? Please help i feel at a loss.

I think the best tool you can have with your sleeve is to log your food intake. Also pay close attention to what your eating and if you post a plus or minus on the scale.

Drink plenty of Water too!! 64 oz should be your minimum, that and minimum 60g Protein... It should work.

You have to be patient with the process. I didn't lose weight every single day. Some days or some weeks I stayed the same, I just kept doing the best I could and eventually the weight just fell off. :) No stress!!

Thank you so much for starting this topic! I've been so inspired by reading through the posts tonight :-) I am 3 weeks out today and have, stupidly it seems, been feeling discouraged because my scale hasn't moved in almost a week. I'm doing everything by the book and getting to the gym, so I need to take a breath and give myself a break. if I just keep on keeping on I will get there :-)

"What am I doing to kick fat's ass today?" - my new mantra (and now posted on my desk, lol).

LOL I love it!!! Yes YOU WILL get there if you just keep, keeping on. Only things to remember: Plenty of fluids, get some exercise/workouts, and Protein first, and last but not least... PATIENCE!!! That's it!!

How 5 Lbs of FAT measures by volume to 5 Lbs of muscle. So, if you're confused on how you can be working so hard and not seeing a loss on the scale - this could be a huge factor.

Ms diva, should I exercise while on my pre op? I already feel a little weak and I expected that but if it helps shrink the liver I'll do it.

Thanks!

I did! Just don't over do it at all, your body will want to eat more which it's hard enough as it is. Perhaps 30 minutes a few times per week. Going into surgery as healthy as possible is always the better choice. :)

Hugs lady!! Your day is close!!

No worries, that's normal. :)You know I'm here for you. BTW, I should mention that some speed walking and light cardio and maybe some light weight lifting should be enough right now. You will be able to pick up the pace in time, once you are healed post op.

*hugs*

I'm open to help' date=' assist, butt kick, pat you on the back... all that.

I absolutely believe in this tool with all my heart! It has done for me what I couldn't do for myself nor even the lap band was able to do for me either. It was the best find and I can't say enough how it's given me my life back!!!

I won't say I know everything, because I DON'T! But in my career I always say, if I don't know the answer - someone else does. I'd like to open the discussion for anyone who needs someone to listen or to answer those millions of questions that come with this life altering surgery.

Blessings to all!!! Your dreams are at your doorstep now with the VSG. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Hi Sunny :)

The only day you will become a failure is the day you give up and stop trying. Never forget that! So, until then you just keep getting up and trying and trying and trying again. I am attaching a link to my version of the awful pouch test. I hate doing all liquids unless my life's being threatened, so that is why I basically just do hardcore very low carbs for 5 days to break the cycle of carb cravings. I also drink a lot of Water to get those spent fat cells out along with any extra Water weight I'm probably carrying around.

Once those 5 days are up, I encourage you to get back to a normal eating plan. For a sleever that means Proteins first (around 80g-100g total a day if you workout - around 60g if not), 64 oz of water minimum, but more if you can!! - and I used to keep my total Carb grams to about 60g per day in my super weight loss mode.

Good luck!!

Question how long after surgery were you able to workout? Do you recommend getting a trainer? Any DVD?

My 4th month post op was when I really kicked back into a hardcore workout routine. I've never in my life paid to have a personal trainer. I never felt like I needed one. I was personally capable of keeping up my own research whereas food and nutrition were concerned, and had some previous knowledge from when my insurance assisted in having me see one for 6 months before being lap banded. I've been working out my whole life and anything I needed to know I could find out on my own. I'm also not one to need someone yelling in my ear to work harder, I do that on my own as well.

That said, I do not tell others NOT to get a personal trainer. They can be a great asset to many people. If you feel you need one, then definitely get one!!

I have a lot of DVD's ranging from Leslie Sansone, to Jillian Michaels. I also have Billy Blanks and a great Kettlebell workout. I highly recommend these!

Cheers!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
