What Mexico Dr. Will Take A Low Gastric Sleeve Bmi Patient?

Recommended Posts

Hey, everyone!!! I'm so happy to have come across this forum. There is such a wealth of information here in everyone's stories and experiences! i gotta question...... what Dr.s in Mexico will take people with a low bmi? I already checked with Kelly. he will do it but his hospital won't approve of it. I know Almanza will do it, but im not too impressed with with the mixed reviews...AT ALL!! Im working with Trish and may go with Ponce. I see that everyone loves Aceves too but will he take a low bmi? Thanks in advance for your responses!!

I went to Dr. Aceves and my BMI was 35.3. I believe some other people were lower.

My BMI is 31 and Dr. Kelly is doing mine. I know a number of people who've been sleeved by Dr. Kelly with BMI's ranging from 30-32. What is your BMI is it lower than 30?

I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly at a BMI of just 30- bordering 29!

There is a woman surgeon at florence Hospital who came to my room 10 minutes prior to surgery to tell me they would not authorize it. I simply signed a form and dr. Kelly still did my surgery. In the event he could not do your surgery there, he does work with other hospitals that will.

Hi,

I highly recommend Dr. Aceves. Please take the time to call at 1-888-344-3916 or send her an E-mail. She is the patient coordinator and she has ALL the answers you are looking for. nina@gastricsleevesurgeon.com

You will not find a better Doctor that Dr. Aceves and his entire staff. He is the top of the line doctor who really cares about his patients. His hospital is beautiful and modern and so very clean.

I wish you great success with hae WLS.

Hugs,

Suzanne

Dr. Kelly was always my first choice, not due to price but my confidence in hin. I never felt Dr. Kelly or my care was "cheap" in any way, and I'd do it again in a heart beat.

I'm planning to go through Dr Ponce and Trish. Dr Ponce performs the single incision, and since I scar easily and don't heal great, the fewer cuts the better for me!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
