fluffylibra30 323 Posted November 24, 2011 Ive been trying really hard to to do the whole "food funeral" thing, but i think i over ate today. I will have to repent tomorrow and run the mall for a few hours. Did anyone else struggle to not overeat?

Afro_Cyster 74 Posted November 25, 2011 I go into my two week pre-op on Monday so YES, I enjoyed myself. I don't think that I overate, but I do think that I'll be eating much less next year this time.
AndreaP 0 Posted November 25, 2011 I started my pre-op diet on Monday. It is high Protein, not all liquid but all products purchased from the surgeons. Technically I'm not supposed to consume anything else. The dinner meals run around 200 calories with 15-20 protein and maybe 20-25 carbs. I did substitute with Thanksgiving dinner, but I only had 2 ozs of white meat turkey, 2 medium size bites of stuffing, 2 bites of cooked cauliflower and a spoonful of cranberry sauce. I can't imagine that was any worse than the packaged meal I would have had. And the coolest part....that was enough. I was completely satisfied!!! If that is how eating is after getting my sleeve, I would be so happy.
Seraphina 60 Posted November 25, 2011 I'm 7 days till surgery. I went all out today...3 glasses of wine and one ginormous plate of Thanksgiving goodness. I feel sick. Not worth it. Glad to be getting sleeved. food is stupid. Or maybe I am, but this silliness I won't miss at all. Bring on the sleeve!
favoredone 590 Posted November 25, 2011 I actually did pretty good.. until a few minutes from now when I have a piece of key-lime pie and some coffee!!! LOL.. The food was good, but not the highlight of the day... My family raved about how much weight I've lost (not really) and how since I'm losing so much weight (again, not really)... perhaps I should reconsider surgery..aaahhhh.. now the truth comes out!! LOL... I really didn't have that "this is my last time eating like this moment".. I guess, I'm so ready to get sleeved and get healthy for once in my life.. but now that I think about it... it's sooooo worth it!!! LOL Visiting home is great!!! It was a beautiful day... now, I want to sleep in my own bed!! Too bad it's over 700 miles away!!
doggz109 41 Posted November 25, 2011 I don't know about you but I plan to have Thanksgiving next year as well. I don't plan on dying anytime this year...I hope! The whole food funeral thing is soooooooo overrated. You can still have ALL the things you like at Thanksgiving next year....just in MUCH smaller quantities. The good thing is that you will be satisfied with that amount. Not healthy to look at holidays as times to binge and that this is your "last" time doing it. Just my two cents. Stacey Nicole 40 Posted November 25, 2011 I deffinitely anticipated being sad about having my "last" thanksgiving. It wasnt at all what I thought it would be - at one point I looked at my plate and wished I was post-op and Eatting what my 5 year old was Eatting! I didn't finish what I put on my plate - which was enough to feed a family of 4 sleevers lol 1 fluffylibra30 reacted to this
Lissa 2,631 Posted November 25, 2011 I had a lovely Thanksgiving. I ate some of everything I wanted, and even had a small piece of each pie (pecan and pumpkin). With the sleeve, I couldn't overeat if I wanted to, and I logged what I ate on MFP. I still didn't hit 1400 calories! In years past, T-day was an opportunity to pile up the food, eat till I was in pain, and gain a few pounds. This year was so much nicer, knowing that I could have a little of anything I wanted and be satisfied with that. It was also lovely NOT to have my tummy hurt because there was so much food in it!! Driver Deb 10 Posted November 25, 2011 I don't believe in food funerals. I had 744 calories on thanksgiving day, and I am down 2 more pounds... I find out my surgery date on Dec. 7. 1 doggz109 reacted to this

waldy43 4 Posted November 26, 2011 My surgery is on Monday, so I didn't eat any Thanksgiving dinner, just my Protein Shakes and a sf-jello. I really didn't miss eating as I still was able to visit with my family.
