Dr. Said To Wait.....

Recommended Posts

For me to head to the gym for my 2 week post-op. I am now 8 days out. However, couldn't I just go and walk on the treadmill at a very light (brisk) pace? Avoid any type of lifting, etc?????

Thoughts?

I started back at gym in week 3. First week back I barely could get 15 minutes on treadmill without tiring out and I sweated profusely. I use a trainer. At week 5 I was back up to 30 minutes on treadmill and 1/2 to 1 hour on weights, still sweating a lot.

Talked with dietician and physician assistant. Increased caloric intake and stablized weight loss to a pound a week. This helped stamina and strength improvement.

At month 4 I am 45 pounds down and 10 to go. I hit gym 3 days per week with 1/2 hour treadmill and 1 hour weights. I am not tired or sweating. Becoming stronger every day.

Advice - slow weight loss, raise calories.

i hadmy surgery one week ago. i started walking on the treadmill on monday. I dont over do it. I stay on for 25 minutes and walk at a pace of 2.5 to 3 mph. when i get tired i stop for a few minutes and rest then start again. listen to your body and take breaks accordingly. I figures the treadmill was the same as walking up and down the street which my dr suggested doing when i felt up to it. at first i was told to only walk around my house but that gets boring and when i felt good enough i started outside.

My Dr. said to wait 4 weeks to work out but said I could swim after 2 weeks. This Friday will be 3 weeks so I'm ready to go to the gym and atleast swim and play a little basketball or racketball with my daughter.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
