Nausea From Water 3 Months After Gastric Sleeve Surgery...anyone Else?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm almost 3 months post-op and I was wondering if anyone else experienced nasea after drinking Water. It started with Splenda and Crystal light, so I switched to Stevia and dropped all Crystal lights and now I'm fine. I can drink my tea with Stevia and have no nausea. But, today, I tried to drink plain water and got nauseaous. Anyone else experience this?

plain Water seems to give me bubbles, and its too hard on my new sleeve. But having it warm works, and smart water seems to be the only one i can truly tolerate. I am loving teabags as a way to make the water more dense. Good Luck!

Have you ladies tried the Mio drops? I like them because I can add a couple of drops to a bottle of Water, or really flavor it up if I wish. Wally World has them in the drinks section for around $3. They look tiny, but a bottle will last me for more than a case of water. I don't like the crystal light and other drink mixes because they never seem to dissolve.

I thought of using Mio, but sucrulose in any form makes me naseausous and Mio is sweetened with sucralose.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
