sirensiren 67 Posted November 22, 2011 Thanks to the beautiful work of Dr. Kelly. at 2 weeks my incisions are nearly invisible, yay! But....those surgery site lumps are pretty prominent. Anyone been given any tips to help break them up or flatten them? I assume time will just help, but I know in the case of cosmetic surgeries where the tissue is hard and traumatized from surgery, massage is encouraged once soreness goes away. Thoughts? clk 3,519 Posted November 22, 2011 Sometimes massage will break up a scar but I find it tough to massage my belly! Time will always help but I still have a few lumpy scars even though it's been more than a year. I have a nasty scar on my leg from an injury and right around three years out it faded away almost completely. I still have some lumpy tissue on one side but with massage (it's easier to massage an ankle than a belly) it's broken down quite a bit. I use some Vitamin e - not sure if it actually helps the scar but it makes massage easier. Good luck with this one. Maybe someone will have a good suggestion. ~Cheri
gracemarie 6 Posted November 22, 2011 At only a couple weeks out, don't worry about the lumps, that is the healing process going on and they will most likly completly go away.
