KASA 0 Posted November 21, 2011 I am 6 days out and finally not felling sick but I feel like I could sip on Water all day I am limiting my self to 6 oz a hour but feel its way to much? Also it the slipping constantly that makes me feel less nausea. What is the Fluid intake system my paper says 2oz every 15 min but I feel like I could do this all day. jillw8 22 Posted November 21, 2011 I was the same way. I felt I was sipping too much but in reality it was okay. As long as you aren't getting pain you should be okay. I think getting in the habit of sipping all day is a good thing for after you are back on solid food. If it's habit you will meet your Water goals every day. 2 Shae and KASA reacted to this
Thomas CPA 496 Posted November 21, 2011 2 oz every 15 minutes is for those with bypass surgery because that is their total intake. Goal is at least 32 but 64 oz preferred per day. If you can drink a cup, 8 oz, at a time you will get your daily intake in easily. 1 KASA reacted to this
KASA 0 Posted November 21, 2011 Thank you both for your help I guess my question is how much can I drink at once? And not stretch my stomach or break the staples. Thank you both for letting me know I am not alone and Thomas you may have answered me 8oz? That just seems like a lot I will only be one week out tomorrow. Kaywieny 2 Posted November 21, 2011 Drink as much as you can without feeling uncomfortable. It is impossible to stretch your stomach or break the staple line, at least impossible by simply drinking Water. If you throw up you've drunk too much, obviously, but don't worry about doing damage, not going to happen. Just worry about getting in at least 32 ounces per day.
