Special K Protein Water?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I bought the Kiwi one. It's good but doesn't dissolve completely.

Lily, I have tried it. As a matter of fact, I still have more than a case of the stuff because my surgeon's plan said that I had to drink 3 a day post-op, but I couldn't handle it. I have a HUGE sweet aversion now and even a half pack of Crystal Light is too sweet for me.

I bought mine from Amazon.com. Try to find some in the store and try one.

Good luck with your journey!! :)

I've used the lemonade one.. it has 5 grams of Protein and 5 grams of fiber... but you mix it into 17 ounces of Water. It's pretty good. I am desperate to get away from artificial sweeteners though so I am weening myself off..lol

I use it every day. I buy them from big lots for 1/2 the price of the grocery store. I usually dissolve in 20 ounces of Water (I prefer them to be a little watered down). And the trick about getting it to dissove is to let it sit for a while. I make it atleast an hour before I drink it. The longer it sits the more dissolved. I have trouble drinking straight up water. It kind of burns. I keep packets of K2O in my car so when I pick up a bottle of water I can just add the powder.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
