What will you do with your underwear??

Recommended Posts

This is a fantastic question...one that I've given much thought to. I work for Neiman Marcus and have always felt cheated because the few items of lingerie that fit me were boring at best. I am going to buy the laciest, sexiest, plunging bras, camis and delicate panties that I can find. I am going to torch those big girl undies....never to be seen again!!!:flame:

I'm planning to wear lots of cute sets, matching panties and bras!

Great question...I'm still wearing them and they come up to my armpits! Guess I'll be tossing those out now.

LOL...sounds like it is time to let them go!

id throw mine in the trash, but after 4 or 5 pair it would be full, so Im going to take the high road and drive 5 miles out of town, find a dumpster in the middle of the night and run like hell.

I will definately Celebrate my new body and will destroy or burn my old ugly undies with people I am closest too and they all can bring me new ones as gifts!

I also decided that when I reach my goal weight I will throw a huge party to celebrate.

This is a fun thread. I love the idea of burning my granny pants however, I'm afraid my kids would go to church and tell them that mommy threw her panties in the fire. :omg: I can just hear it now.

As for big girl undies and bras that are sexy...try www.torrid.com! They have FABULOUS stuff! and bras that are built like battleships, hold you really well, and last a long time, but still look ultra hot! They even sell all their bras with cloth straps, and plastic clear straps for your tanks and strpless shirts. Speaking of strapless! they actually have strapless bras that work for us big girls!! Check them out!

http://www.torrid.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&RN=773&ITEM=587503 I wear this bra and it makes me feel great all day!

http://www.torrid.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&ITEM=584503 And this bra is AWESOME!!! Not only does it offer amazing support and is built like a tank, it is lightly padded so you have a smooth, solid form. no long can anyone tell that you are maybe a little cold. :)

Thanks for the info funny. I'm actually sitting here laughing because somehow my 40DD size isn't listed there!!! LOL I think it's a conspiracy! "They" don't want me to be cute. LOL

What underwear.......don't we all wear thongs?

Carol

Heh heh heh...

My 5 year-old daughter calls these "Butt Crack undies".

Just made me remember that.

My wife bought a pair by "accident", and never wore them, no matter how many times I requested.

Hmmm, I am a panty/bra freak and they must match and must be cute. I guess I never got big enough to not be in cute at Lane Bryant. And ALL of my bras and panties were Lane Bryant. I hate to throw them away but I do. Then I go buy another sexy set!

I have NEVER had a cute set, and I can not wait! I just hope the girls SHRINK! I have been a DDD since 13, so I am hoping I can be just a D. When I was nursing I was a GGG. NOW THAT IS PAIN!

I can not wait to shop at Victoria's Secret!

Well, I've had "Yabos" (thank you Disney, for that gem, and for giving more fuel so my sisters and my mother, lol), since I was in the 5th grade. I think that my 'yabo slings' could be a good long distance catapult or something.

I actually like the size of my breasts, but when I get to goal, these suckers are getting a LIFT!!

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Seems it would be more compassionate not to perform a WLS on someone until they are mentally ready for it. Unless of course they are on death's door...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
