blinger12 2 Posted November 19, 2011 I had my surgery 4 days ago and am having a real problem keeping liquids down. So far I have not been able to get more than 20 grams of Protein in an about the same amount of liquids. Nausea is my ever-present companion. I'd like to hear if this had been the rule with other women. I'm 64 and live in the Dallas area.
gracemarie 6 Posted November 19, 2011 Hi, I am 65 and am 3 weeks out. Don't worry about the Protein right now. You should only be on Clear Liquids.< /p>
blinger12 2 Posted November 19, 2011 Thanks, Gracemarie, for your reply. I'm just trying to be a good little rule follower. I know that dehydration is a big worry after surgery, so I'll concentrate more on pushing Fluid that the Protein. Did you find a Protein Powder that you could tolerate better than another? fluffylibra30 323 Posted November 19, 2011 ive been testing Proteins out so after the surgery i dont have to do a lot of major shopping first weeks out, for this stage, i would drink the Isopure, it is actually good, tastes a little bit like Kool-Aid, it is 5 bucks a 20 oz, bottle at GNC, a little expensive but think you can only drink a couple ozs at a time so it will last a day or 2. I also like Injury unflavored. the GNC 100 isolate whey Protein unflavored isnt bad either. Check the protein section of this sight, there are all kinds of protein ideas and the different good flavors....
