needachange 15 Posted November 18, 2011 I am one say post op and my stomach is growling. I know it's crazy but it is. I am still in hospital. Going home tomorrow. I did get up and walk many times today and shower. I have a big gas bubble it feels like but won't mOve. Any suggestions? For any of my problems??
Free2B 8 Posted November 18, 2011 Sometimes folks have stomach growling because they need to be taking an acid blocker like Prilosec. But I don't know if that applies only one day after surgery. For the gas problem, you might try Gas-X strips, which melt on your tongue. Walking around also helps. Good luck to you!
soforreal 7 Posted November 18, 2011 Ask them if u can have something for gas, and try to be out of bed as much as possible. (walking, sitting in chair etc.)
Lissa 2,631 Posted November 18, 2011 Just what Free2b said, walking and gas x strips. Congrats on being sleeved! Every day will get a little bit easier.
janetrupp 2 Posted November 19, 2011 gas X strips worked great for me when I was in the hospital also. I couldn't walk as much due to complications but the gas X worked great.
