Loosing too fast all of the sudden???? Can that really happen?

Recommended Posts

Ok... I know it may sound crazy but I have lost 1 pound a day for the last 10 days. Not that I'm complaining at all.... but I'm 3 1/2 months out and have been a slow loser this far and now all of the sudden BAM here we go. Just has me a little concerned I guess.

What do y'all think?

I agree. I think that's fine as long as you are getting your nutrition. Our bodies do amazing things. Sometimes we like it and sometimes we don't. LOL

It's a wild and crazy ride. As long as you are eating and keeping up with your Vitamins, it should be OK. Also, keep in mind that this kind of loss my only go on for a couple of weeks and you will likely stall afterwards. It takes the body time to process what is going on. You may want to back off of the daily weigh-ins. Once a week at the very most, if you can manage it.

Congrats and good luck!

That's great. Please send your weight loss vibes my way - LOL.

I agree with the others regarding nutrition. Just keep on top of your Protein and Vitamins. Also, if you're taking in more fluids (i.e. water) and exercising more, that may be playing a significant role in your sudden rapid weight loss.

Keep up the good work!

Niki

I lose a pound a day for a few days, then nothing for a week or a week and a half---it did come off a LOT faster a few months ago! LOL I'm with the others--just take it, smile, and keep doing what you're doing. If you're meeting your nutrition goals, seems like your body has caught up with the plan!

I did this for several months also at the 3 month point...lasted about 5 months. I lost almost 160 in about a year. I just had a very hard time eating calories. I also ate almost all Protein diet with supplements.

FYI I never got sick or had any issues with my sleeve, other than my skin sagging all over and on my face. That now is gone.

Oh drink lots of Water, it helps with the skin elasticity!!!!!!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
