LoserMama 37 Posted November 17, 2011 did things get worse after surgery, what happened? I was recently diagnosed with "silent reflux" (LPR) and put on a prescription PPI called Dexilant. Its helping a lot with the throat spasms, voice problems and sore throat pain I was experiencing. This all started just recently, have never had issues before ,and now I am wondering if I am going to have MORE problems having wls when I already have reflux issues. anyone have LPR prior to surgery (or GERD) and was on a PPI? How has it gone after surgery?

Moonstar66 0 Posted December 14, 2011 Loser Mama, I just posted about this! I see you are having surgery on 12/21 so I guess your doc is OK with your getting the sleeve. I will keep an eye out for replies to your post! Moonstar66
Newgirlie 37 Posted December 15, 2011 Ive had severe reflux for at least 10 years, and can not go with out my medicine. Even with my medicine at times I would still feel bad. Ive been sleeved now for close to two weeks, and although it's still early on, I haven't felt any worse than before as far as reflux goes. I am still taking a PPI. I had asked my surgeon who said that it would be worse at first, then eventually get better, but for now, no complaints.
