Mornings are so difficult

Recommended Posts

I never feel well when I get up. I do not want to eat or drink. I feel extreme fatigue and just a heaviness about my body. I also feel super dehydrated. It takes a couple of hours before I can start drinking and eating and slowly I start to feel better. Does anyone else have this problem? What tips or tricks do you have to get your sleeve up and running?

Yes. Me too. I take my pills first thing with a sip of Water which gets me quickly into the water drinking. Then i know I need food/substance with the pills so then I have to have at least two spoons of mushies. Or just start with a Popsicle. But that might not be a good habit. Try your anti naseau med too maybe.

Hi,

I feel that way but it is getting better. I am 6 weeks out and have dealt with nausea most of the time. My doctor told me to forget the morning Protein Shake and to start with warm coffee and meds. Let that settle for an hour then eat Protein, fruit, etc.

It does seem to help having something warm on the tummy first thing. I also take a ginger capsule and that has helped .Hang in there. Also if possible try to get outdoors and get some sun. Hope this helps.

I am four months also. Perhaps a little morning exercise to get you going.

I don't have a problem wanting to eat first thing in morning. I pace my Vitamins so I don't fill myself on Water first.

If you feel ill that is one thing else you just need to eat, you have to get your three meals in. I mix it up, one day a poached egg and toast, another Cereal and cottage cheese, another a vegetable/cheese/ham omelet.

You just need to do it for your proper health.

Well, I did not feel "normal" until about six months out. Now, minus restriction and new habits I have more energy that before. Is your bloodwork coming back normal? Are you getting enough Iron?

So, my advice would be to drink some watered down G2 gatorade (sugar free) starting after dinner until going to bed. This will up your electrolytes and potassium. Having enough liquids ups your blood pressure to healthy levels. Have you checked your BP in the morning? If you are dehydrated your blood pressure is lower which makes you lethargic. Hydration is essential.

I still have a Protein cuppacino in the morning even at a year plus out from surgery. Remember we now eat for nutrition. Our bodies need to be fed properly. Learn good habits and learn the new you. Good luck!

No regrets, I love my sleeve.

You have got real great advices on here, but may i ask how many hours do u sleep and when is the last meal before u sleep? sometimes when I dont get much sleep and my last meal is like 6 hours away I feel the same thing.

But on normal days, Water is the first think I run to after I wake up, I take my antiacid med. with large sip of water then wait half an hour ( totally waste it with freshening up) then heat my leftover or whatever I am gonna eat and just take the bites I can of it. It is usually my smallest meal so Half an hour early I drink my skinny starbucks macciato (SP?) and thats it for like another 7 hours!

I can call myself a crappy Breakfast person.

Try the water first and wait and see if it is gonna makes u feel better, the sun advice is great and fresh air too, it will takes time but it will get better soon:)

I think mornings are tough just because there is so much to do. :) I get sick if I don't have something in my stomach before I take my morning meds, so I have to drink my protein/decaf drink first, then take my pills, then have breakfast. Seems sometimes by the time I am done with all that it's time for lunch already!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
