Hi flower, yes no worries. This is completely normal until your incisions heal. I am a stomach sleeper and wasn't able to fully sleep on mine for a few weeks. Keep your head up!

Flowermama! Sorry you're feeling pain! It will pass. The first few days are the hardest, then things get better daily! I know you mentioned walking hurts but it may be helpfull if you can move a little. Sometimes gas gets trapped causing this horrific pain and movement tends to "dislodge" it! If you could muster a few walks around your house it may help. Hang in there! It will pass (no pun intended!) :-)

I agree with the other posters. Moving helps to get your insides moving again...not to mention it takes your mind off the pain(s). It also helps your body move Water and food through.

Have you gone #2 yet? If not, maybe the pain is related to that. If you have, then it's probably a combination of gas and incision pain. I had some sharp, deep pains that I thought were related to a stent I had installed before and removed after surgery.

Also, I'm assuming you're a girl. TOM is much more painful now than it has been in years for me. Could that be the cause of the problem?

The pain will pass quickly and you'll be amazed at how well you can move and how fast you lose weight.

Good luck on your journey! :)

Yes, I remember those pains. I actually slept in our recliner the first few nights because that was the only place I was comfortable. At only four days out, don't be afraid to take your pain meds. Keep your body comfortable so it can focus on healing. :)

Best wishes!

Amanda

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
