Kettle Corn is like a drug!!

Recommended Posts

I love this stuff but limit myself to 1 bag every 3-4 days.

Besides Telly (the hottie), does anyone else love it as much as I do?

LOL...yeah, I knew they had a lite version of it but I like the full-fat, etc. version better. Isn't that horrible? Hence, my reason for limiting myself.

Oh no @ picking up the wrong kind!! Oops.

I haven't tried it - how bad is it calorically? Buttered popcorn is HORRIBLE!!!!

Maybe I should just stay away from the kettle type popcorn too. *sigh*

I buy the ACT II regular and buttery kettle corn and they both have the same nutritional info.

Calories per 1 cup popped: 35

Calories from fat: 20

Carbs: 16g

Protein: 2g

One bag has 2.5 servings, and each serving is approx. 4.5 cups popped corn. So, each bag has approximately 393.75 calories. I always include them into my daily caloric intake.

I LOVE kettle corn. I am a huge fan of fresh made kettle corn. But that stuff is way to high in cals. I like the microwave kind though. its pretty yummy.

I love kettle corn. My mom's boyfriend doesn't like it much and accidentally got the costco box of it when he meant to get buttered. So he popped a whole bunch of it up and make caramel popcorn balls!! OMG, those were SOOO good. Fortunately, that only happened once, lol.

I freaking -love- kettle corn. Not necessarily in a platonic way. But not the microwave kind. It has to be made in the big copper pot, so I can have it all fresh, hot, firm... Then you get that one piece that has the perfect balance of sweet and salty, and ... hmm, better stop. I'm getting all worked up over here.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
