Heya, well you and I had surgery semi close and we entered "maintenance" around the same time too. Whatever that means! LOL :) I just wanted to say that my excess skin though it was never really bad, is shrinking away too. So, it's not just you thinking it.

Many studies show that it takes a few years for the excess skin to fully snap back as much as it ever will. This is the exact reason why I won't consider any skin removal surgeries until then. I'm hoping I'll never even need it.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Omg skin bouncing back? That would be AMAZING! My tummy there is no hope for but perhaps my arms and thighs? Oh that would be fabulous because I don't really like the results/scars of either of those surgeries!

YES GIRL can you believe it??? there is hope! I've totally noticed it mostly on my arms and back...don't get me wrong I still have tons of arm flap but it looks better. I really hope my inner and outer thighs can recoup a little more as well, fingers crossed!!! I am like you my tummy needs a tuck no matter how much it bounces back lol.

Please let this skin bouncing back thing be true - I am going to wait at least 6 months to make a decision on what to do with my tummy now that I am at goal. I wish my boob would bounce back (inflate) But do not think that will be possible.... will consider augmentation and Tummy Tuck if needed next spring. For now I am just enjoying the new me size 6 and smalls.... still losing and wondering where I will end up.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
