Hahhaha!! I've been on my preop diet for on month, they have me on 1500 calories aday, no sodas, no juice, and I had to cut waaaaaaaaaaay back on my sweets and carbs! I have, and I am finally below 300! I am at last weigh in 297!!

that puts me at 4 pounds lost since I went to my first appointment, and the Dr only wants me to lose another 12 before surgery, surgery will be sometime in march because I have to have the 6 months preop due to my insurance, but this is so exciting!

Now I haven't lost any weight in the last 2 weeks, but I did have a rather huge non scale victory, I went shopping for my company holiday party, as it's black tie, I needed a nice dress, every 24 I tried on was too big, and only one 22 fit right ( 20's are still to small) But I was so excited! Luckily for me the 22 that fit just right was my favorite lol.

Thanks for the read!! <3 <3 <3

Congratulations! I finally got the treadmill out of the box and set up and I've walked for 30 minutes the last four nights in a row. I'm hoping to keep that off and maybe loose some too before surgery (hopefully in early January).

Those are both great victories! Congrats!

I have always thought that it's such an awesome feeling to try on clothes that once fit fine and now are too big. I dunno why but having clothes fit bigger sometimes (to me) is a better victory than a scale loss.

Congratulations again this is an awesome post! Good Luck on your pre-op diet and keep us posted!

Wow! Good job Sarah!!!! Same to you Hadouni! Congrats to both of you! Anything you do now before surgery will only help you even more after the sleeve. It's also very helpfull with healing! You will find that after surgery you will have a momentum that develops from all of this pre-op work. It really does pay off. Best of luck to both you of you! Looking forward to reading about your progress. See you on the loosers bench!!!!!

YES! I agree! Loose clothing is sooooo much more exciting!!! I think my body shrinks sometimes and the scale doesn't quite reflect it.... maybe fluids, whatever it is. But my clothes will often fit different overnight! I LOVE that when it happens :-) LOL (even if it is a pain to have to keep finding new clothes!)

If you don't lose weight, you are probably building muscle and that will reshape your body to fit into smaller clothing. That's so awesome..congrats to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
