sprgfvr 0 Posted November 10, 2011 Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I am looking at this as a new beginning. My "new beginning" date is Dec. 7 with Dr. Mario Almanza. I am so excited. I started my pre-diet on Sunday. Many people (family) at first thought I was CRAZY for wanting to have 3/4 of my stomach removed. I don't know where you all started, but as someone in her mid-40's, I have struggled with weight all my life. I realized I would like to be able to run with my kids ( what a novel idea ). Be around for grandkids, and live to a ripe old age. I don't expect this to be an easy journey. But nothing worth while is easy to attain. But I am mentally ready, and I hope this forum will help when the going is rough. The only dread right now is learning how to sip, sip, sip. I am so not a sipper. Best luck to all. ginajeans 4 Posted November 10, 2011 This forum is amazing, I have found much support here and a lot of good information and insights. I am getting sleeved on 12/6 and was buying things today to prepare for surgery. I am not a sipper either, I gulp my Water. I bought some plastic shot glasses from Walmart so I can start practice sipping. Each glass is one ounce so I will be able to track easily. I am trying to prepare my self for post op as much possible. Good luck to you!
