Okay, I have to chime in! MEEE TOOOOOO!!!! My whole journey has been a big stall. I tend to get stuck for up to 4 weeks. But then there are these consecutive drops of one to three pounds. Overall I've been averaging about 10 lbs per month, like SleeveStalker above. I do notice that when I get my Proteins and liquids in I drop. For me usually that means getting a shake down because I'm one of those that still struggles with them. But without them I have trouble getting all my Proteins in. So if I have more than 3 days where I am short on Protein, it's "get a shake down" time.

I finally came to accept I am a little slower to loose BUT, inspite of the stalls, it's coming off AND way faster than before when I use to kill myself with excercise and food restriction only to loose 2 to 3 lbls in a month. So I'm just accepting these stinkin' stalls because overall I'm way ahead of the game.

Hope we all get a drop in the scale soon!!!!! Even better, hope all our clothes fall right off our bodies :-)

I have a quick question for you guys...I am 7 months out and I am hovering at 70lb gone...that is a average of 10 lbs a month which is pretty good. I started at 240 and I am at 171 today. I am taking in 800 calories roughly and I am wondering if I am loosing slowly due to my calorie intake. I do limit carbs minus a halloween candy attack last night thank goodness it was just 1 fun size bar. So my question for you guys..What in the world am I doing wrong? Is it a calorie thing? I just started working out with a trainer at the gym on Monday, my body is killing me ...My activity level during the day is a desk job. Any suggestions to get the scale moving again would be great ....

I don't think you are necessarily doing anything wrong! I have a similar experience than you. You are just a bit ahead of me time wise. I also average about 8 to 10 lbs. per month. As I posted above, for me, when it comes down to it, it's a really good loss rate. I was never able to get this type of loss before, even with lots of hard work! I think some people just loose faster. I tend to tell my self that as long as overall it's all going the right direction, just stay calm and keep doing what I'm doing. I don't think one "fun size" candy should throw off the entire month! If it's a pattern, of course, that may be the culprit. But if you are working out and doing what you're suppose to. It's going to have to come off. Also, I've been reminded here on this board many times that as we get closer to a healthier weight, things slow down naturally. Which makes sense because at some point we do have to slow down the loss, or rather, maintain.

Congrats on the 70lbls lost! That's an awesome accomplishment!!! Keep on keeping on! :-)

Well, I am feeling better soon too. It must be some 3 month thing. I was losing 3-5 pounds a week and then boom it stopped. I have lost 3 pounds the last 3 weeks. This started exactly at the three month mark. I have been really trying to up my exercise level and I hope that might help. I had a goal to get to onederland by Christmas, but being a 227 now, I don't think it is going to happen.

Thank you ladies that posted. We we feel a bit down we have to stick together. This is why I truly love this forum. The numbers do not lie. If we all stick together, we will overcome! Some days are truly better than others. I know that 70lbs is a huge loss and I would not be here without my sleeve. I have tried so many diets and put my body through some horrible things during my life. When you set back and truly think about it, this is the longest I have been able to consistently loose weight. I know you guys remember the old days. Loose 5 lbs on a diet, get frustrated the scale is not moving and totally binge and just start the diet over the next day....Or the famous line I will start again on Monday....Those days are over for us. No more giving up. The beautiful thing about the sleeve. It is truly a life change like any good diet is supposed to be. It just amazes me that I have hung in there this long..it totally blows my mind. So in the happiness of Friday....Lets love our sleeve today and put some pep in your step. We are so incredibly lucky that we were able to have the sleeve and we have some loss. There are plenty of sleevers that have not been approved for the surgery, or are patiently waiting all of the red tape to be on the losers bench...Love your bodies and where you are at today. I am so grateful for my doctor and my sleeve. Thank you guys for all of the wonderful encouragement that you have blessed me with.

OK people.... it took time to put the pounds on and you know what I am going to say now..... it takes time to take off! Your body is adjusting to this amazing change that is happening. I promise you will continue to lose. I was stuck all of June, July and August. Seriously lost only 4-5 pounds those 3 months. Lost a couple in Sept then along comes October and 6 pounds come off....what? Yep GOAL met.

Remember to measure yourself and continue to drink enough Water, eat enough Protein and for me increasing my carbs slightly (less than 20 extra per day) always gets me moving. I am 10 months out - made goal in 9 and most of it came off in first 4 months - then again in last 2. Your body just needs to adjust and settle a bit then it will pick up again. Remember to be thankful each and every day for how far you have come.

This is an amazing journey we are on. Each person has a different story and experience. We are all on the same path now - how we got here is from many different paths/walks of life. Stay strong, stay focused and be proud of where you have been and where you are going.

Hugs

Kim

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
