Funny you should ask. I haven't been doing great this week but I weigh 220 pounds today and I've weighed 220 since Nov 1st!!! How am I going to lose weight if I'm 1/3 way into the month and I haven't lost A POUND. My 3 month anniversary was yesterday. I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you but I totally sympathize.

lol.. I'm glad you posted this because I just called my friend(she had surgery the same day as me three months ago) and I said.. Are we done losing weight??? lol I logically know that we will both lose more, but when you are stalled forever it seems like this just isn't going to work out for you. I hear ya. I think things will start to pick up again and we will have a laugh about this... it's just not so funny right now.

Here's to continued weight loss! :)

I had this problem too and I found that I wasn't eating enuf. So I added some Protein powders into my food and changed things up a littlel. Sure enuf I started losing again. It's my opinion that if I don't eat enuf my body thinks I'm starving and holds onto the weightl. I hope this helps and have a good rest of the week! I hope things get better for you!

Just hang in there. I had several long stalls during my journey. My last one has lasted 4 months. I have finally started dropping weight so I am now only 6 lbs away from my goal. Change up your routine and food. Make sure you are getting enough calories. It will start fallling again.

I am just about 3 months out and I have been stalled for almost 2 weeks. I had been going up and down around 200lbs and could not wait to get into the 100's and I got to 199.8 on October 26th. Since then I've been fluctuating up and down a pound or two - it is frustrating! My goal is still to lose about 6 more lbs before Thanksgiving and towards the end of Oct. I thought I might be able to get there... now I am not so sure....

I stalled at 200 pounds too. It was so frustrating because I wanted to be in One-derland soo bad. I low carbed it to break the stall. I kept the carbs really low (30) and it worked! You will get there. I also drank tons of Water. I stuck to cheese, Pork rinds, and beef Jerky if I had to have a snack.< /p>

I am just barely into month 4 and loss is moving slow, only a pound here and there. This is normal. The body keeps adjusting the metabolism. I swear by eating more I have lost weight. This last week I have been bad nibbling on a couple of pieces of excess halloween candy, Pasta etc and lost 1 pound and haven't been to gym in a week.

Hang in there, you will move the scale other than to the closet :)

i am at three months now and i have had a few stalls already. i still cant fathom that i will ever be skinny. i am not in a stall now, but the weight is coming off very slowly. i actually lost faster before surgery then after. the only thing that i can think of that is the reason is that we now have less fat to lose so therefore it is going to come off slower. i was surprized that i have lost 4 pounds so far this month and i havent been really good with carbs. i make sure to take pictures regularly to compair them. when i am looking at the picts it helps to see it better. good luck :)

I have a quick question for you guys...I am 7 months out and I am hovering at 70lb gone...that is a average of 10 lbs a month which is pretty good. I started at 240 and I am at 171 today. I am taking in 800 calories roughly and I am wondering if I am loosing slowly due to my calorie intake. I do limit carbs minus a halloween candy attack last night thank goodness it was just 1 fun size bar. So my question for you guys..What in the world am I doing wrong? Is it a calorie thing? I just started working out with a trainer at the gym on Monday, my body is killing me ...My activity level during the day is a desk job. Any suggestions to get the scale moving again would be great ....

Lol, try being stalled at 200.2 for over two weeks. I am dying here, but you know the scale has to move again!

I hate to say it but I am there also. I am three months out too. I lost 2 lbs last week and weighed 189.9 on sunday but by Monday morning (my official weigh day) I was back to 190.3 and today I was 191.5. I am going in the wrong direction! I think I might be retaining Fluid and I am not drinking nearly enough Water either. I only averaged 500 calories a day for the past few. I am just sick of not seeing a loss or If I do, a very small one! Ughh! Maybe I need to eat more food but my mind refuses to believe that if I eat more I will lose. No comprehendo.

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
