eating like a bird to eating like a lady - OR AM I?

Recommended Posts

Ok so it will be month 5 on the 13th. I spoke once before about not having much restrictions (as compared to the early stages). Of course there is still restriction, but I was able to polish off two pieces of bread and butter as a result of being on business travel. I will certainly go back to my regular eating once I get home, but I was surprised that I could eat so much.

The other night I had no choice but to get room service and I orderd a shrimp marinara Pasta. I should have told them to hold the pasta, but I was able to eat most of it over a period of 3 hours. I kept eating. Once the restriction let up, I took another bite.

No self control. It wasn't a little bowl of pasta either. BIG FETTUCINNI! I want to cry as I feel like on this trip I will actually gain. I will give myself the weekend to get back into gear before my Monday weigh in.

I called the airline just to get my out of here early so I am leaving tonight to go home because I didn't want to sit in front of a big bowl of pasta again tonight.

Besides just the eat your protien first there should be a guide to give you hints like...

TELL THEM NO TO GIVE YOU ANY BREAD or PASTA - Just the Protein.< /p>

I am really scared. If my tummy continues to grow...eventually so will I.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
