AmberDawn 21 Posted December 27, 2011 Hello December Sleevers. Guess i'll join the party. I was sleeved 12/12 and have lost 13lbs, unfortunately i hit a stall already last wednesday and have been stuck at 287 for 6 days. Not sure why i hit it so early. Maybe its due to the fact that i've been able to get in my 70grams of Protein every day. Who knows but I hope it hurries up and unstalls.
LoserMama 37 Posted December 27, 2011 Hey a question, as we are now settling in, instead of one mondo thread, could we maybe do a checkin thread per week or something? We could start our first one next week with the new year? Maybe have one for a special challenge too? Soon our last round of sleevers will join us on the bench, might be fun to do some challenges as soon as everyone is past the immediate post op Owie time? Hey, do you guys recall long you were told to keep using the breathing thing and doing the foot circles and flexes? 1 SherylO reacted to this
SherylO 5 Posted December 27, 2011 Since my Dec 5th surgery I have lost 16 lbs. I am starting to notice the loss on my body now and not only on my face. I have by trial and ERROR found out that my sleeve does not tolerate the spiciness of Thai Soup. Oh man I paid for that, probably the only time a sleever dumps. babigrl111 38 Posted December 27, 2011 Since my surgery on December 9th ive lost 13 lbs, total 20 with the pre-op diet (started day after Thanksgiving). I seem to have stalled out already too, so i stopped weighing myself daily, and am only doing it once per week. I pushed my scale under our kitchen table where i cant see it so i am not tempted to get on it. I've been told by a few people they can already see a difference, so im really excited to hear that, because I havent really been able to tell. Then again, 20 lbs when i started out at 267 doesnt seem to have a huge impact on anything, lol.
enixon2010 6 Posted December 27, 2011 Just one more day December 28th sleevers. I'm in the same boat and I cant wait. My surgery is at 9:30 a.m., but I have to be there at 7:30 a.m. I am very excited but overwhelmed, because I feel like I have so much to do at home before I go to the hospital tomorrow. Good luck to us all!!
SleeveDreamer 383 Posted December 27, 2011 As you may recall I had a super long surgery since my sleeve was followed by a 2 hour procedure to get my stomach from being lodged unbtween my lungs. My sleeve part is great but aftern 6 days home on a liquid diet and seeing my dr, for fu, he even extended me to fll liquids, the pain in the side of my back and right shoulder was so excrutuiting that I ended back up in e hospital Friday. That pain was so horrific' I could not explain it. I had some ct scans to check for leaks and blood clots. Everything with my sleeve aok and no pain. Now They have found a small leak where the dr repaired my esophagus to my diaphragm and it must heal itself beofre I can have any even ice chips or Clear Liquids again. So now I am on a PICC iv and need to wait another few days in the hospital to have another swallow test. I am so bummed. But please note that this situation has nothing to do with my sleeve, only the hernia repair surgery. I have completely forgotton about the sleeve at this point and am worrying that the esophagus leak will not heal itself. I would still have it one again, but this was just simething that happened after the hernia repair, it wanso complex.
ATeam 38 Posted December 27, 2011 Oh Sleevedreamer, that sucks! Thinking about you and hoping you get better soon. I was sleeved Dec. 13th, and I too have hit a bit of a stall. I have lost 19 in total with my pre-op, and have been there for about 6 days or so. It seems weird to have hit a stall after 1 and a half weeks out, but when you think about it, 20 lbs is ALOT to lose in a matter of 3 weeks! Old me would have taken almost 2 months to do that. I am still going to weight myself every day, as I feel that knowing what is up with my body day to day is way less dissappointing than waiting a week and seeing nothing go down! CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted December 27, 2011 Hope everybody took measurements at the beginning of the journey, when you hit the stalls often the inches are coming off instead of pounds.
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted December 27, 2011 I had my 2 week post op appointment with the nutritionalist. It was a good visit and confirmed that i am right on track! I start pureed foods tomorrow and who would ever imagine that the idea of pureed food could be so exciting???? Soup with some substance, cottage cheese, even some of the recipes off eggface's blog - i am so ready to be eating something that is actually like food! 1 xenophile reacted to this

Deigh 15 Posted December 29, 2011 Just checking in. I had my two week appt last week and I'd lost 21 lbs. I couldn't believe it. I was thrilled. That put my BMI FIRMLY under 50 - in fact I'm within a few lbs of breaking the 45 BMI goal. I can't get over it. I am still struggling with my calories and Protein. I have never worked so hard to eat. I always worked NOT to eat. This is really new and hard. I have had several times when I haven't been able to keep food down, either from eating too much or just eating the wrong things. Liquids are still my best friend. Yogurt slips right down and greek yogurt is my savior. I did get tilapia down one day but the next day, it did not go at all and everything came up. It's such a learning process. I was glad I had started the food diary habit because I've emailed it to my NUT a few times and she has had good suggestions. That's been kind of a savior for me. I'm up for a challenge if someone wants to start one. It's amazing how much knitting I'm doing now that I can't eat. :-)
