I ordered a sampler of nectar Protein Drinks. 13 flavors for 13.99 - a one time per person offer. if you are interested, call them at 1-866-333-7403. and talk to cusomter service.

Right now, the only Protein Drink i like is Premier chocolate which is a a premixed one I buy at costco. It is 180 calories, but only 5 grams of carb and 30 grams of Protein. I think once sleeved, having one that has more protein will be good. Now, presleeve, I feel like I could drink 3 of them and not be full - but I don't.

I had my pre-op testing today 11/28/11. I was so nervous, and anxious. I didn't understand why at first, but then I realized I was one step closer to my WLS which is Tuesday 12/6/11.

I can't believe it, I've been waiting for this day for a long time, yes i'm scared and nervous for WLS, but i am sooo excited too. I know I will be having more "nervous attacks" - but i'm so happy my big day is finally almost here.

My DH came to appt. with me, he always does - and this is how we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary! He keeps saying something "he is still waiting to be paroled" I then say "no you got a life sentence" :kiss2:

I'm sure i'll talk at ya later expressing my anxiousness, fears, excitement and whatever else comes along.

Thanx for your ears :bigear: Kathy DOS 12/6/11

Hello!

My husband and I are having our sleeve surgury on Dec 20th. Merry Christmas to us! We are excited and scared at the same time. We start our diet on Dec 6th, and are ready to start a new journey together. Best of luck to all that are having the procedure.

Zoey

As for clothes - my surgeon has a clothes swap at their support group meetings because what is too big for you might be just right for someone who started out bigger. They had a ton of stuff.

They do a clothes swap in our support meetings, too, I am hopeful I might pick up some things that way (crossing fingers!)

Oh I am on day 5?6? idk. I can't think, I had to take the week off work, I am so, so so tired, I am sleeping a lot.

I wish I would adjust, there is a lot I could get done since I am off.

Pretzels- I keep smelling pretzels errr (there are none!)

My preop diet started monday... so this is day 3. I am doing low carb 20-40 carbs a day (that is counting everything including the carbs in supplements!). So far, I have stayed 100% on it,, but I don't like it much. It is so worth it though if I can reduce risks of liver bleeding or jostling.

My surgery date is Dec12th - I go back and forth between being so excited and downright terrified!

I had a good meeting with my PCP and she told me that the biggest thing in the first 3 weeks after surgery is that I will be really really tired and that is mostly caused by dehydration. She counseled me to not be shy about getting IV fluids if needed as it can be so miserable to be dehydrated. Great, gave me something new to obsess about.

The hardest thing about my pre-op diet is having to make dinner for my daughter. I swear things I dont even like smell sooo good to me. I make her food and then go hide upstairs till shes done.

I had my husband cook supper tonight and I went and had a bath. I sipped on chicken broth while I was in the tub but it wasn't as good as the steak rice and salad that my family ate. I don't even like rice and it was tempting.

I wish I had someone else to make her dinner for her. Luckily I can have lettuce with no calorie dressing, and I found some that tastes amazing, so at least I can eat something.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
