favoredone 590 Posted November 11, 2011 For me, the realization that my life is TOTALLY changing in 6 weeks kind of makes me a little loopy at times!! I started this process in June and then, it seemed that December was soooooo far away... I try not to think too much about it and to continue to make better decisions and acquire better habits.. I'm not mourning food, but my wardrobe!!! Most of clothes are getting too big right now!! And I dread having to replace everything... I have am emotional attachment to a lot of my things.. I remember when, where I bought 85% of my items and how I felt... LOL.. I know it sounds NUTS... but, I love my clothes!! 3 babigrl111, BenisaMartim4 and LoserMama reacted to this

ATeam 38 Posted November 11, 2011 A question for all my december sleevers: How are you handling being post-op for Christmas? I know I am going through the dilemma of not wanting to tell my judgemental in-laws about my sleeve, but having to go over there for an intimate Christmas dinner. Should I tell them I don't feel well? How are you guys dealing with it?

guzel 11 Posted November 11, 2011 My surgery is 12/14 at U of M in Minneapolis.Of course it will be if I get insurance approval by then. I'm so excited to be getting this done and so afraid that something will come up to delay my surgery date. I've been reading all these posts of people who have recently gotten their sleeve and it's making me crazy wishing I could do it right now! 1 BenisaMartim4 reacted to this

babigrl111 38 Posted November 11, 2011 A question for all my december sleevers: How are you handling being post-op for Christmas? I know I am going through the dilemma of not wanting to tell my judgemental in-laws about my sleeve, but having to go over there for an intimate Christmas dinner. Should I tell them I don't feel well? How are you guys dealing with it? I am waiting till after the surgery to tell my family. I have lots of friends, co-workers and my boyfriend supporting me, i dont need any of their negative comments. I've tried to bring it up to my mom, and she was like "thats way to drastic!" So for me, once i've had it done, i plan on telling everyone, because there's nothing they can do about it, and any horror stories they have are useless if we are still alive and kickin (and lookin better than ever!). My boyfriend's parents know because his step-mom had the bypass a while back. But by all means, its your choice to tell or not to tell, and if you dont feel comfortable, i think a recent bout of the stomach flu or food poisening would make a good excuse to get through the holidays. hunydew2262 7 Posted November 12, 2011 I'm getting sleeved 12/14 with Dr. Northup in Cincinnati. I've had multiple abdominal surgeries so I'm not so worried about that part of the process. Just remember to walk afterwards. It does speed your healing, helps to get the bowels moving, prevent pneumonia, lots and lots of good stuff. I'm excitged for us all! Next Christmas we are gonna look and feel SO good!!! HD 2 BenisaMartim4 and wantobeskinny reacted to this

babigrl111 38 Posted November 12, 2011 My surgery is December 9, 2011 6 a.m. check in time Dr Braverman N.E.W. Program Newport Beach, Ca. HOLY MOLY, not only do we have the same surgery date, we have the same doctor!
Jangel 2 Posted November 12, 2011 HOLY MOLY, not only do we have the same surgery date, we have the same doctor! What are the chances of that?? I was approved for sleeve months ago butwasn't in the right place to proceed at that time. I am a band to sleeve revision Band was done several years ago with the N.E.W. program, Dr Quebberman was the surgeon. I had no problem with the doctor or the medical proceedure. The band became the problem. Just could not tolerate it in any way. Horrible experience. I am now 25lbs heavier then I was pre-band surgery. I have had many conversations with Dr. Braverman in regards to the sleeve. I trust him and I believe what he is telling me. Just a hard decision for me to make. Crossing my fingers and going for it. Hoping for the best, for you, for me and everyone else! 1 babigrl111 reacted to this
Roxyrooster 9 Posted November 13, 2011 My highest weight was 314. I am now 291. I wear size 24 bottoms, 3x tops, 24/26. I haven't set an actual goal weight. When I was in my twenties I got down to 145 but my body had to fight to stay there. I was more comfotrtable at 160. I will probably set my weight at 165. I start a 2 week liquid diet on Nov. 28. Anyone doing a 2 weeker?
