Some wonderful people!

Recommended Posts

I just have to say.... there are some awsome people here. You know who you are! You are sweet, always helpful and encouraging! I thank you.

You post-sleeved have been there and continue to give. You pre-sleeved are right there striving for the same thing.

Sometimes days are really exhausting, your feet ache, your tired but you still get on here, intisapating an answer or a suggestion or a "keep motivated".

I so appreciate this new little world I stumbled upon in internet land.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!! :biggrin2:

Oh I agree... this place is a great place to come and browse; read a wealth of info... have a vent or pass on some experience.

I too, Yecats, would have been lost without it and I probably wouldn't have done as well as I have.

I too want to say THANKS! =]

I have to chime in here! I could not agree more! I have said it many times, there are some awesome folks here and like others are saying, I am getting througth this journey thanks to the information and words of support I have found here. I am always amazed at the willingness of people, as yecats said, that basically have their own life to live, and yet willing to take the time to post, respond, and help out someone who's needing info or support. So, I will also add my most sincere THANK YOU!!!!!!!! (Several of those people are right here, right now, posting above! :-) ... and I'm sure more below! :-) )

My surgeon and his team are great, but there is no way they could have taught me everything I have learned here. I feel prepared and that is priceless while I go through this important time in my life. I thank every single person that posts. You all contribute greatly to keep this place alive, informative and exciting. Some of you get a thanks AND a hug for being here constantly, for cheering us on and for the occasional tough love. I appreciate it all. Thanks!!! :grouphug:

Agreed with everyone else! I learn a great deal from everyone, even some new folks. It take a community to raise child (or so they say). That is so true.

I'd like to place a personal thanks though to Alex for providing this very website for without it, these thanks wouldn't be available to give.

Blessings everyone!

You're so right! Although my surgeon and program took great care of me and did a great deal to educate me on all the changes that would come my way, they had never had the surgery and they had no idea what the path would be like...they only had the information their patients had passed on to them. There is nothing better than asking some one who has been through the exact same thing a question and getting an honest answer.

I have to say that I'm not sure I'd have had the surgery if I hadn't found this site. I did a TON of research on the lap band, then my doctor threw me a curveball when he mentioned VSG instead of the band. So, I started researching the sleeve and found this site.

I've been amazed at how much information is here for all of us. Before sugery I decided that I would share anything I could with others as a kind of payback to those who went before me and shared their information for dolts like me.

I'm grateful to those who have posted here and been brutally honest about their struggles. It's great to know there is a resource where you can find an answer to any question, even if it seems like it's TMI when you are first thinking of it.

My hat is off to everyone here. This is a huge journey to take. It's been life saving for me. And I credit this board and it's participants with making me brave enough to have the surgery.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
