grannyk 58 Posted November 5, 2011 I have atrial fib. I have to take two medications to keep it under control. And I was sleeved 4-14-11 by Dr. Aceves. One really doesn't have anything to do with the other for me. Are you having problems? Or just anticipating that you might? K

feedyoureye 3,087 Posted November 5, 2011 I was 57 with AFib when I got the surgery. No problem. They just made sure I was on my meds. I had to crush them for the first few weeks, and eat with applesauce. My cardiologist wrote letter of endorsement for my surgery. I take aspirin as one of my meds, and I had to get permission to NOT take it for the first month after surgery, which was no problem. Have your mom pm me if she has questions.... I have cut my beta blockers down by half because my blood pressure went down so much!

LVikingFan 14 Posted November 6, 2011 58 and I have had Chronic A-Fib for over 15 years. My cardiologist said there would be no problem with the surgery, but it kinda freaked out the anesthesiologist. He put a arterial line in my wrist during the surgery to better monitor my blood pressure. I didn't even know it was there except they told me afterwards why there was a bandage there. Since the surgery I am off some of my cardiac meds and feel so much better.
