How much is average weight loss by end of 1st month?

Recommended Posts

I have a friend that was sleeved 3 months ago and is down 46lbs since surgery and 69 overall. I have been following my diet plan and exercising minimally. I started at 276.7 and was 258 right before surgery at my one month today I was 243.5. I know I have lost and am very satisfied with the changes I have noticied, however I feel like I should have lost more. That is why I am asking what the average weight loss is at the end of the 1st month? Thank you to all of you who repsond.

It is so true that comparing yourself to others is not a good approach. It will only result in feelings of failure. That said, I am also one month out and have lost a total of 17 lbs. since surgery. However, I will be honest that like you, I have been exercising minimally. So, I made a resolution today to make the most of this very valuable tool (the sleeve) and really do my best for optimal results. So today was my first day back in the gym (I had only been walking before) and I hit the elliptical for 30 mins., did some lights weight for my arms, and about 10 mins in the steam room. I am going to do this at least 3x/week and see what kind of difference it makes. It is easy and convenient to just label yourself a "slow loser" and do the bare minimum. However, I think we owe it to ourselves to really push and make the most of the advantage we have with the sleeve to get optimal results. I want to succeed, and I know you do to. Now, after all this I still may not be the fastest or biggest loser. But what I will be is confident that I tried my best and put my best foot forward. So, do you wanna take this next step with me and take the "minimal" out of your exercise regimen? I have a feeling we will not be sorry. Here's to a fresh start!

I'll be honest I was wondering the average too. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks for me and I'm down 16 lbs. My personal goal was 20 lbs but I stalled out over a week ago. It's funny because I didn't think of "walking" as minimal exercise. I walk 2 miles every day but is that consider minimal? Maybe I should be working out harder?

I think two miles of walking is pretty good at only one month out! Average isn't a fair number for anyone. I've lost nearly 50 pounds in two months, but I weighed WAY more than either of you to start. You can only compare yourself to you. It will make you frustrated and angry with yourself to compare yourself to others.

If you feel able to do more exercise, go for it. If you're not able to do more exercise, that's fine, too. The goal is to end up healthy when you're done losing weight.

I have pretty severe restrictions on exercise because of health complications and walking is about all I'm allowed to do right now. However, walking has helped me drop weight, regulate my bathroom habits, and made me more comfortable with other types of activity. Walking IS working to tone my legs and butt.

I lost about 20lbs my first month, and another 12 in the second month. I have not exercised much, but am starting a program now. I think 15-20 the first for weeks is probably standard, and I was very happy with that number!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
