New forum layout

Recommended Posts

So I assume the forum got an upgrade, the new look is cool and pretty fresh looking.

One thing I hate is the MARK AS READ choice is now at the very BOTTOM of the screen, kind of unhandy. I for one click the UNREAD button, scroll through and open the posts I want to read in additional tabs and then mark the entire forum read. That keep the message count fresh for the next time I visit.

I really like the new look myself... still trying to figure out how to navigate. It doesn't seem too difficult though.

LIKE!!

I'm digging it. I've only encountered a couple of glitchy things, but that's to be expected at first when you make a change like this.

Is anyone else having a problem with some of the posts bunching up at the bottom so you can't read them.

No warning.... I am not a fan of change especially when it comes to techy things...Now I have to learn it all over again. I can do it... was quite a suprise though.

I really like how the "like this" button is way more obvious! It took me months before I knew what the original ones were for and I know i've seen a couple posts where other people ask about it as well!

This new forum is starting to irritate me grrrrrrrrrrr. Don't get me wrong, I do like it with the exception of the bunching at the end of a thread! I read through several posts on a thread and then the rest are all layered on top of each other. Its starting to drive me nuts LOL. Any ideas when they will be fixing this? Just curious.

Hmmm I don't have that problem. Have you tried changing your screen resolution? If that doesn't work, then send Alex a PM and maybe he can help you. It could be a glitch and he'd need to know about it. :)

Of course, here I come, . . . I don't like the new forum at all. . . this is the 3rd time since i've been a member that it has been changed. . . why all the changes. . . it's sorta like Walmart, you just get used to where everything is and bang you have to relearn everything again because they went a changed stuff to make "it easier". . . well it's not and i don't like it. . . .

thanks for listening

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
