Kayla 6 Posted October 27, 2011 So it's been a while since I have been on here....I have been super busy with work and going back to school and adjusting to my new life. But I am doing great as of this morning I have lost 72 lbs!! Its amazing how much better I feel....I am about 1/3 of the way to my goal weight and only 2.5 months out of surgery...I have started to experience Hair loss I have really thick hair so others aren't able to notice the hair loss but I can tell. I was told by someone to take Biotin has anyone taken that to help promote new Hair growth? ?
MegInNOLA 531 Posted October 27, 2011 Wow! Congratulations on some super speedy weight loss! Yeah, hair loss stinks. Some people have found Biotin helpful. Also, be sure that you're getting enough Protein in your diet. That's one area I've had trouble with, and I am still losing hair at 6 months out, although, happily, like you, I had a bunch of it to start with. I can still tell a big difference even if noone else can; I'm really hoping it slows down soon! Anyhow, way to go with your great start, and keep up the great work! Helen the Cat 42 Posted October 27, 2011 I am 4 1/2 months out from surgery, and I noticed my hair loss about a month ago. Instead of slowing down, it seems to be speeding up. I never had really thick hair to begin with, so it is REAL noticable on me. I was drinking a Protein drink once daily, and have upped it to 2 per day. Also have started using the Nioxin system to Shampoo and treat my hair, and have started taking a Vitamin that contains Biotin. So far I haven't noticed any results, and am considering if I want to subject my hair to coloring it. I have colored for years, and it is time to re-touch, but am wondering if I should. I have lost a total of 88 pounds since my surgery, and am so thrilled with the results that should I go completely bald, I will gladly buy a wig! I was just in my closet a few minutes ago weeding out the clothes that are to big for me. I have sent boxes and boxes of clothes to friends who are about the size I was before the surgery. These are clothes I bought AFTER the surgery, when my original clothes were to big. It is so thrilling to put something on and find out that I swim in it! I have about 22 pounds before I get to goal, but again, if I never lose another ounce, I am happy! Kayla, Big Congratulations on your weight loss. It is fantastic! Keep it up!
