I totally understand where you are coming from when they decide there are not going to do something or wear something.. etc. So frustrating! Good luck on your journey! BenisaMartim4 369 Posted October 27, 2011 Girl, I wish you the best. I for sure know what stress is all about and what it will do to ya. I have four boys. None of mine are teens yet though. All of mine are young (4,5,9,10.) My oldest two are autistic, my baby is legally blind and my other one is just a brat. I feel like pulling my hair out on most days too. It is a constant circus here. I decided to do this, because it was time to do something for me. I have run myself in the ground over the last ten years trying to do the best for these kids and it has taken the toll on my body and mind. This one is just for me and here's to you too! BenisaMartim4 369 Posted October 28, 2011 Thanks so much. So very sorry about your babies. I have such a struggle in my daily life. Many days I wish I had not of had children at all. Then I meet people like you that have lost theirs and I feel like dirty for not being thankful for what I have. I just feel like it is more than I can bear sometimes. That is one of the main reasons I am seeking this surgery. I need to improve my health so I can take better care of these children. Unlike most women, I may be in the role of having "children" at home the rest of my life ( unfortunately one of mine may be a a six foot tall, 300 pound man with a third grader's mind). I hope for the best, but plan for the worst. My biggest dream is to go a day without pain and the large bag of pharmasudicals I have to take. I would like to go walk one day and not spend the next day in bed. Boys need a lot of special attention.
Sassygirl06 962 Posted October 28, 2011 i have one teenage daughter that is 16 and a middle of puberty 13 year old boy, and then an 8 and 1/2 year old girl going on 18 (lol) i just tell them like it is. i give them respect and they give me back what i give. i make sure to tell them all of the mistakes that i made, even the ones i really dont want to tell them, but i feel it is more productive to tell them what really happened in hopes that they learn from my mistakes. try to keep your cool, and remember you are in charge, no matter what..... you cant be their friend, but you can be someone they come to when they need help. good luck ladies, both with surgery and with the boys
