Croatica 0 Posted July 21, 2006 Well, my doc sorta warned me that the band might diminish the sense for hunger, but that the smell of food would still remain to tease me. But I must say, its just the opposite. My mother made fried chicken the other day for lunch; she fried it in fresh oil. So we all sat down for lunch, I was eating my Soup and suddenly I felt this disguisting smell! I used to love fried chicken, but now the smell of it made me almost vomit. It was disguisting! :biggrin1: On another occassion, I was passing by a kebab store(another of my ex meaty favourites :biggrin1: ) and the smell was soooo bad I had to run away. What wrong with me? :biggrin1: Can self-persuasion be that powerfull? :biggrin1:
MarcyD 0 Posted July 21, 2006 I have had a similar issue with bacon. I used to love bacon and now the very sight of it almost makes me sick. Seems like it must be psychological, but I don't mind. Bacon sure won't help my weight loss journey much!
JMO 0 Posted July 21, 2006 This is a good thing right? I hope my nose and my brain does this to me when I am banded. The only time I experienced anything like this was when I was prego. It was so weird. All three pregnancies I could not look at, smell, touch or really think about raw meat! any kinds, red, chicken, turkey, didn't matter all of it made me sick. Dody 0 Posted July 21, 2006 My kids made spaghetti last night and although I wasn't hungry there was certainly nothing wrong with my sense of smell...it smelled delicious. I didn't even go near them, as they are kind enough to take it in the other room. I didn't want any per se, but I thoroughly enjoyed the smell of it cooking. It would be nice if the things I did like turned me off
