I changed my name! (aka nurselisa22)

Its a blessing and a curse- I have a sleeve of steel :-) I will be 3 months out on November 9th and I can tolerate anything and everything. Which is nice, but also can lead to some poor food choices. Is anyone else able to tolerate everything???

I am doing well to stick to the protien first- I have my eye on the prize. I am happy to say I am 4lbs away from the 100s for the fist time since high school and I am in size 16 jeans (was a 24 at one point)- and I am feeling cute! Yay!

Progress pics with be posted ASAP.

I also have a sleeve of steel!!!! Maybe it's a nurse thing???? ;) I have been able to tolerate everything I've tried. I agree, a bleesing and a curse. I wish I had less of a tolerance for sugar!!! What kind of nursing do you do?

I'm the same. Two months out as of two days ago, and I have eaten salads without a problem, breads (limited) without a problem, I get tons of Water (100 oz/day) with no problem.

And I'm a SLLLOOOWWWWW loser, which sucks. But I guess it would be too easy if I could tolerate everything AND lose quickly

I too can eat anything and I am just over 2 months out. I have eaten salad, bread, etc. and have had no reactions whatsoever. It is nice to be able to eat somewhat normally but I do wish I had a new aversion to sweets! I haven't eaten many because I am doing Protein first and am usually not hungry after that. I too feel like I am a slow loser - I only lost 7 lbs last month (month 2).

Congrats on having a Sleeve of Steel!:D I have a Sleevzilla :o and I have to be very careful what I introduce to her or she rebels one way or the other (either up and out or down and out) if you know what I mean!;) Sometimes I am afraid to eat cuz of her so enjoy your sleeve of steel.:)

I have an odd combination: an incredibly tiny sleeve of steel. I can tolerate everything - never vomited, never even close. But I can't eat much - 1 1/2 oz of dense Protein or just under 2 oz of wet protein (chicken salad, tuna salad) at 6 months. But Rumbly (it's still a very noisy sleeve) has been good to me so I can't complain.

I'm 9lbs away from the 100s and also feeling skinny in a 16! My sleeve has been pretty accepting so far except with grease (which i'm thankful for), but I haven't tried too many foods yet. No salads, no sweets, no bread/rice/pasta. I'm basically just eating Protein. and whatever veggies get scrambled up in my omelets. I can't decide if I'm hoping for a sleeve of steel or not!

My sleeve tolerates everything too (except Protein drinks) and I LOVE it! I am so thankful that I can eat everything the rest of the family does, but I have the luxury of being stopped within a few bites :)

Yeah, I seem to have the same "iron gut" that I have always had. I'm only one month out and never got sick. In fact, I haven't thrown up in almost a decade, lol. Anyway, I'm eating pretty normal foods, just very smalls bites and chewing the dickens out of it biggrin.gif

I also seem to have a sleeve of steel, and agree that it's a blessing that also has its down sides. The behavior modification is definitely up to my brain - my sleeve never tells me no, or makes me sorry if I eat one bite too many. I've got some work to do there - my brain often thinks it wants more than my tummy needs - sigh....

On the other hand, I've been blessed with very steady weight loss. Not particularly speedy, but I only had about 80 pounds to lose post-op so I think it's normal to be a slower loser, and I haven't experienced a real stall yet (knocking on wood...)

I'm a proud member of the sleeve of steel club! Had a salad for lunch which included 2 oz. chicken breast, 1/2 small Tomato, 1/3 cucumber, 1/4 yellow bell pepper, 1/2 small avocado, 2 small radishes and about a tablespoon of balsamic vinegrette dressing. Ate the whole thing, no problem. Delicious.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
