so what did you do to break the stall?

Wish I knew too. I've been on a stall since moving to full liquid over a week ago. Before I was loosing good then it just stopped completely. I walk 2 miles every morning and have less then 400 or 500 calories each day. I work hard to get in all the Protein and feel like I sip all day long but the scales won't move. At first I tried to stay positive but some days I am so frustrated. This morning I was downright mad. To me the numbers just don't add up. If I only intake 400 calories and burn 250 calories working out and since I'm alive and breathing have to be burning even more calories....so whats up!! I should be melting right. Just goes to show how seriously messed up my metabolism is. I've read all the stall post and guess I know it is very common around 3 weeks...but somehow when I weigh I still want to stomp on the scales like the incredible hulk and smash them!!

I stalled at 3 weeks as well. And stayed there for two weeks of bouncing up and down on the same darn 3 pounds. I added in carbs, eating baked crackers and Peanut Butter. I also upped my Water consumption a bit from 64 oz to 80 oz a day. There was another TMI reason for the upped Water consumption, too. ;)

After two weeks, I suddenly dropped 7 pounds in two days, so I think that all helped. Mostly, I just made myself not worry about the stall. It doesn't help and anxiety makes me want to eat.

This article helps explain stalls- and should help a bit! Also, measure yourselves! When the stalls come you will find you are still getting smaller.

Interesting... I'm going to try adding more cals/fat through shredded cheese. We'll see if it works! Thanks for sharing the article!

I stalled at about 10 weeks out and I broke it by eating more and exercising less. I lost 5 lbs in 1 week! Now I'm stalled again...going on 3 weeks. So frustrating.

I added more calories and downed my carbs. Seems to be working.

Same here! I added cals and more fat and the scale is moving again, despite my TOM approaching! Banane55.gif

I almost doubled my calories yesterday and this morning, lost 2 lbs. That's crazy. I feel better today too, less tired and weak sure the calories helped with that. Can't believe a scamble egg with a little cheese would take all evening to eat. Couldn't even finish it but was nice to chew on food again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
