How do u know if you are too tight?

Recommended Posts

My take on too tight (from more mild to severe):

1. Dissatisfaction with the small amount you are able to eat.

2. You are not able to eat sufficient calories/nutrition.

3. Pain when eating.

4. Inability to keep down solid foods such as meats/poultry, but no probs with "easy" foods.

5. Vomiting in spite of chewing well and eating slowly.

6. REFLUX/Heartburn.

7. Inability to drink fluids.

The only time I have pain when eating is when I get something stuck. I can eat some meat, but not all meats. I do have a hard time with a baked potato. I REALLY need to learn to slow down and chew more. Have REFLUX maybe 1 a month. Can drink fluids, just not when I first wake up. So, I should be good, right? I got scared when I read another post about her band slipping. I knew I would get some good answers here:-)

What donali said, plus many banded people have some foods that just compress into a plug, and miake life difficult. If I want a bite of potato when restricted, I'd better lube it up with a ton of butter, so seldom eat any potato. I can't even consider bread, rice, Pasta or dry meats, such as chicken breast. We're all different. You need to find the foods, if any, that you should avoid.

I can't eat bread or chicken breast. I can eat a little rice and I just found out this week that I can eat the popcorn chicken from Sonic. I can eat frito pie and the insides of a enchirito, not at the same time. There are things that I think would be easy to eat and I try them and I can't eat them. Then there are somethings that I think would be hard and they go down pretty easy. I was just hoping I wasn't too tight, cause I surely don't want to have to have another surgery. Thanks Donali and Sue...Have a great day:D

P.S. I am loosing an average of 6-7 lbs a month.

You're not throwing up, right?

I can't eat potatos for the most part, where as other things that clog people up don't seem to bother me as much. Something about those potatos...

Sounds like you're okay - wow!! You're really keeping up the weightloss speed even though you are so close to goal - congrats!!

I would do everything you can to avoid the once a month reflux - it will add up.

You probably know the reflux avoidance guidelines (in order of least to most aggressive):

1. Do not over eat.

2. Avoid acid producing foods/drinks, like caffeine, chocolate, peppermint, orange juice, spicy food.

3. Do not lie down after eating (I think they recommend a 3 hour wait?)

4. Do not eat or drink 3 hours before bedtime.

5. Take an OTC med to control reflux.

6. Elevate the head of the bed (helps keep the esophagus above the stomach so there's no backflow).

7. Get a slight unfill.

I am sure my problem is the overeating..and TBH it is less than once a month. When something gets stuck and it won't go down, then it comes back up. I am gonna concentrate on eating slower and chewing more, I am positive that is where my problem is.

Thanx for the congrats. I want to lose about 20 more. I want to try and lost it by August. We will see. I should if I keep loosing 7 a month. I need to change my stats, I now weigh 178-177. Each morning it is one or the other. I will change my stats once I am at 175. Thanx so much for helping me.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
