A great site for pureed recipes!

Recommended Posts

I ran across this site the other day, theworldaccordingtoeggface.com , and thought I'd pass it along. The blogger had a RNY done a few years back and she shares her journey and her recipes...the recipes is what caught my eye! I have been printing things left and right from this woman. Anyway, last night I stumbled across this list of pureed foods/recipes lunch I made the ricotta bake and it was to die for!!

Hopefully the variety will help pass the time during this stage!!

I love eggface's blog! Question: how do you count protein/calories for a dish like this, especially if you're only eating a tablespoon or two at a time? I'm starting pureed tomorrow and can't wait to try it!

Have you tried logging into myfitnesspal.com yet? I use it to keep track of my Protein mostly but also calories, carbs and Water. There is a place you can enter recipes and I'm sure that will give you the protein/calories etc.

p.s. I'm in no way affilitated with that website, I just happen to think it's super easy to use.

Good Luck!!

I am dying to start the pureed stage!! I am not starting it until I get back home to the Yukon- so another 4 days. That will have me on the full liquid diet for 10 days. Uggg.... I am sick of it already!

I had an account but just started using it again! Lo and behold "shelley's ricotta bake" was one of the pre-listedrecipes :) Thanks!

I am obsessed with eggface! I think it is great that there are so many recipes and even Desserts listed on there. I can't wait to get off mushies and soft foods so that I can attempt to cook for my very picky family.

I would pay good money for an eggface cookbook. Shelly rocks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
