11 days out today, and I'm feeling really good! I still have my WTH moments but for the most part I feel good, I had my drain removed 9 days after surgery and I tell yeah it was the best feeling ever to not have that thing hanging around any more. I have a appointment on Monday with the Doctor and I'm thinking hes going to release me back to work and I can't wait I'm tired of being home. :)

Having a hard time getting 50 grms of Protein in through Water/juice no problems but wow a Protein shakes takes me forever and I feel so full! has anyone tried a protein shot? to meet their required protein? if so what kind?

Has anyone run into the problem of not being able ot wear their pants? my stomach is so bloated I can't snap my jeans? very odd.

Best of luck everyone,

Sleeved on Tuesday. My bra and waistband feel tight and uncomfortable from the bloating. Hope it goes down soon. Having a lot of gas so I am hopeful.

I am not having a problem with the Protein. Usually have 2 cups of the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup and that gives me 40 right there. Then all I need is two shakes for 20 grams each and I am at my 80. I make my shakes with a cup of skim milk so they are not so much to drink. Also, the skim milk has 9 grams in each cup. I have not tried it yet, but I have some unflavored Protein powder that I can put on yogurt or sugar free pudding. I have not heard about a shot.

Sounds like you are doing great! biggrin.gif

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
