peppercma 12 Posted October 20, 2011 I'm 3 months out and have been eating fresh fruit since about a month out and salads since about 2 month out. They both cause great amounts of "rumblies in my tummy". Grapes actually make me burp, but everything else just seems to make the tummy very vocal. I never had this problem pre-surgery, so why is it happening now? And will it go away? Even some sliders make this happen also, like the greek yogurt. Thanks for any input y'all have. AnneG 7 Posted November 9, 2011 I'm 2 months out today and I tried salad for the first time. I got a salad from subway and ate about 1/10 of the salad and all of the meat. It took me all day long- but so far no symptoms with my tummy and actually before surgery my tummy was a little sensitive when I ate a lot of lettuce but I seem to be feeling fine and boy was that salad good. First one I've had since August.
Raine 170 Posted November 9, 2011 I am 6 months out and STILL get the grumblies just not as bad as when I was 3 months. I take it as my signal to stop what I'm doing. I listen to it most of the time, but I will admit that sometimes I ignore it and continue eating.
ShellBear 26 Posted November 9, 2011 Our Dietitian (Kaiser Nor Cal) says that the noises are caused by air moving around in the tummy. Nothing to be concerned about. It just seems louder now because the tummy is smaller and there is less "stuff' to muffle the noises. : ) 1 cutie pie reacted to this
feedyoureye 3,087 Posted November 9, 2011 salad and fruit have more Fiber and the tummy does more work getting it ready for the gut. Chew well. Avoid celery and fresh coconut. I get some rumbles and burps to this day after 9 months, but can tolerate fresh better than ever (after sleeve). To get in more veggies, I make veggie Soup and can eat lots of that without many calories and very Yum!
