I seem to have very little appetite during the day. But around dinner and lasting until I fall asleep, I AM STARVING!!!! It seems as though its getting worse. I haven't been able to keep my calories under 900. Tonight I went all the way up to 1200. I have seen a dramatic decrease in my rate of my weight, as to be expected. I'm getting all my Water and Protein in. I'm on a PPI. I signed up with a gym today hoping if I up my intensity of my workouts my hunger will diminish. I am 8.5 weeks out from surgery and down 40 pounds. 25 since surgery. I want to nip this in the bud and get back on track. Any suggestions?

Yes I do think you need other sources of Protein besides shakes. They have all the protein that you need, but they don't stay in your stomach very long. At 8 weeks out, there is a long list of things you can eat with high protein.

Even if you never liked meat before, now that you are sleeved, your tastes may be changing. There are easy sources of Protein that are fast to prepare - salmon, shrimp, scallops, omelets to name a few. There are easy dishes for the crockpot, too.

If you must eat in the evening, limit yourself to things that won't negatively impact your eating plan. Keep raw sugar snap peas on hand (I keep a bag of them in my fridge). If you are dying to crunch on something, have them. And, I always have SF popsicles on hand, too.

Good luck.

P.s I get most of my Protein from shakes. I really don't like meat. Do you think upping my meat and egg intake will make me more satisfied? Just a thought....

Eat a hard Protein dinner and you will be OK, shakes just go straight threough the stomach, meat and hard boiled egg stay in and make you feel full for much longer.
